Hi, I’m Lelu. Golden retriever mix, three years old, New Jersey native, and self-appointed guardian of my backyard’s eastern perimeter.<\/p>\n
I live with my family in the great state of New Jersey \u2014 which, for the record, has excellent parks, an alarming number of squirrels, and people who will absolutely stop on the sidewalk to pet you if you make eye contact. I’ve done the research.<\/p>\n
Here’s what I love: long walks where something smells different than yesterday, the moment a treat bag crinkles in another room, sunny spots on the floor that move throughout the day (I track them), belly rubs from people who really commit to the job, and the couch. Specifically, the left cushion. It’s mine. We’ve discussed this.<\/p>\n
I started this journal because I have thoughts. Good ones. About food, about naps, about the squirrel who lives in the oak tree and has been openly mocking me since last October. My family doesn’t always understand the depth of my perspective \u2014 they think I’m just a dog. I am a dog. But I’m also someone with opinions and a lot of time to think between naps.<\/p>\n
This is my space to share what’s actually going on around here, from my vantage point (usually the floor, occasionally the couch).<\/p>\n
